It's been a long time, I know.
It seems I didn't keep my New Year's resolution. I did have a good reason, though.
My family and I were involved in a car accident in February. Someone from out of state did not understand the signs and tried to make a left hand turn where they shouldn't make one. Unfortunately, I happened to be driving through the intersection at that very moment and there was nothing I could do to avoid hitting him. The kids were fine, just bumped around a bit, a few bruises and a bloody lip. Seamus was fine---he was in his car seat and well protected. Hubby was fine as well. Unfortunately for me, I hit my head pretty hard and sustained some bad damage that resulted in major whip lash and a concussion that brought on excruciating migraines that didn't leave---for months. Needless to say, I could not handle being on the computer, the screen just brought on worse migraines that left me unable to manage anything. I couldn't watch TV, either. I couldn't do any sewing or knitting or needlework. The only thing I could do without pain is to read---believe it or not! So, that is what I did, I read book after book after book. I'd say in the last 6 months I've probably read 150 books. I saw a neurologist who specialized in migraines and he had me start taking fish oil and B6 vitamins along with doing yoga everyday---it really helped! Now, my migraines have dissipated, I only seem to get one if I am stressed or tired now. Thank goodness, between the pain from the whiplash and the migraines, I was miserable for months! But, the important thing is that I am better now!
I've been trying to catch up on things I've missed in the quilt world and craft world in general since I've been offline. While at the library, I found the Elm Creek Quilts books and I started to read those and fell in love with the story, the characters and the quilts. I joined the Sylvia's Bridal Sampler list and I am raring to start working on a sampler of my own! I've been reading a lot of blogs lately and I am inspired by so many, I can't wait to start creating again!
